What people are saying about our farm
In 2010, when we started weekly in-season trips to Shundahai, I only expected that we’d get good produce. And we have thoroughly enjoyed produce that is organic, delicious, and raised in ways respectful to the earth. What I didn't expect was how getting to know Raluca, Ed, and their daughters would educate and inspire me. Raluca and Ed started this farm with vision, conviction, risk-taking and a desire to share their learning and process w/ others. Shundahai not only raises food with heart and intelligence; it succeeds at connecting people to the people and land responsible for our nourishment.
-Tom Levine, Mansfield, CT I honestly didn't know what a carrot should taste like until I joined the Shundahai CSA. Getting produce from their farm really exposed me and my family to so many new, delicious vegetables and changed the way we eat. We love Shundahai!

"I've been coming to Shundahai since 2013. The quality of the produce and maple syrup are exceptional - the spicy salad greens are truly superior and unlike anything I've been able to find elsewhere. Raluca and her family are gems and I'm delighted to be able to support them with my purchases. Their farm reminds me of the farm I grew up on long ago - now long gone.
- Heather P, Mansfield, CT We have been purchasing our produce from Shundahai Farm for the past 6 years. They have helped us make positive life changes. We are healthier and more knowledgeable about how our food is grown pesticide free, best ways to store our produce, healthy recipe ideas and how to help our environment. We are grateful for all they do to provide us with quality food and we highly recommend Shundahai Farm.

"As soon as we learned about the CSA available at Shundahai farm, my husband and I visited the farm to learn about Ed and Raluca's farming practice and growing methods. Seeing the farm firsthand, and knowing that they were using old-fashioned, chemical-free growing practices reassured us that when we signed up for their CSA we were getting the healthiest, highest quality seasonal vegetables that we could. Having young children, we have done our best to provide them with food that is as chemical-free as possible and minimally processed with the least impact on the environment possible.
There is no other way than visiting a farm to know exactly how your produce is grown and whether any chemicals are used, even when buying USDA certified organic produce from a big-box grocery store, since some chemicals herbicides and pesticides are allowed under that label. We feel that supporting small farmers, especially ones who respect the Earth and whose practices maintain the health of the soil and water, is incredibly important to the future of the economy and food production and are so very happy to be able to do that in our own corner of the world." -Melissa Grakowsky Shippee, Ashford, CT |
